The CASCELLA Superior Clavicle Plates were carefully designed in alignment with our goal to reduce complexity. Therefore, the shape of the midshaft plates was designed to meet more lateral as well as more medial shaft fractures. In order to achieve an optimal fit depending on the exact fracture location, the midshaft plate may be flipped by 180 degrees.
The anatomy of the clavicle is highly variable. The shape of the CASCELLA Plates was designed based on an extensive 3D database to account for the challenging geometry of the clavicle.
To reduce complexity and keep the product as simple as possible, there are only two sizes - for both the clavicle shaft and the lateral clavicle - while still covering a wide range of clavicle fractures.
