We offer an implant portfolio to cover the majority of fracture patterns with only two core instrument sets (2.5mm/3.5mm) — everything designed to promote simplicity in the OR.
The TIC (Titanium Inlay Clip) System allows for variable angle (VA) screw locking within the Bonebridge osteosynthesis plates. The TIC System combines two metals (pure titanium and medical grade stainless steel), both known for their differences in stiffness and strength properties. The softer titanium is used to manufacture the TIC inlay, which is firmly assembled to the plate body. The harder stainless steel screw then forms its thread into the TIC inlay during the insertion of the VA Locking Screw. The screw then locks at a predefined locking torque, resulting in a fixed screw to plate construct.
The TIC has shown consistently low removal torques after mechanical lifecycle tests as well as in clinical use. Despite this, results show equal to superior stability compared to competitors. The combination of both metals in orthopaedic implants is proven to be biocompatible.
As the VA Locking Screw forms its own thread into the TIC inlay, the screw may be angulated in any direction within the cone of operation (+/-15°). If needed, a VA Locking Screw can be inserted up to 3 times into the same hole
All TIC holes can be used with either VA Locking Screws or Cortical Screws, depending on the specific surgical needs.
Thanks to its unique geometry, the TIC allows all drill guides to click into the desired hole for stable drilling support.

Bonebridge screws are made of stainless steel and are available in two diameters (2.5mm and 3.5mm) to match the corresponding plates in the Bonebridge portfolio.
The two screw types available are VA Locking Screws and Cortical Screws, both of which are compatible to be used in the TIC plate holes. In addition, the Cortical Screws are designed to be used in the oblong and compression holes as well. The self-tapping screw tip and the thread pitch for both screw types have been carefully designed to ensure easy and smooth insertion into the bone. The screw head recess uses a T8 (for 2.5mm screws) and a T15 (for 3.5mm screws) design.
Once coupled with the Bonebridge exchangeable bit (screwdriver), the user will note a selfholding interface, as well as sufficient grip upon rotation to ensure controlled screw insertion. Threads on the head of the VA Locking Screws engage with the TIC plate holes to form a thread into the inlay, and thus create a fixed screw to plate construct for angular stability.
The same drill diameter is used for both VA Locking Screws and Cortical Screws: a technical element aligned with our goal to reduce complexity.
Bonebridge instrument sets are optimized to provide the surgeon with exactly what is needed to place the implants — and not more.
Each instrument has been carefully considered to offer an ergonomic and user friendly experience. Two core sets are offered in order to meet the requirements of the 2.5mm and 3.5mm Bonebridge implant portfolio.
The 3.5mm instrument set is used with these plates:
