Laura originally started her career at Synthes in Switzerland, where she completed an apprenticeship in construction and design engineering and subsequently worked as a design engineer in their innovation team. She further broadened her technical expertise by earning a Bachelor of Science in microengineering at the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH).
Before joining Bonebridge, Laura took a detour from the traditional engineering path: She traveled the world on her bicycle for over three years – an ambitious journey that took her from Europe to North Africa, Canada, Alaska, and as far as New Zealand. Upon her return to Switzerland, she worked as a bicycle mechanic for a few years. In 2023, Laura and her girlfriend embarked on another 1.5-year-long trip through the Balkans on a VW bus fittingly named “Heidi”. “My travels have allowed me to rediscover my passion for problem-solving and design in an entirely new way,” Laura says about her time on the road. “And I’m excited to bring that creativity and renewed perspective to my new role at Bonebridge.”
In her spare time, Laura enjoys trail running, cycling, mountaineering, and, of course, continuing her travels whenever she can.
